Chartered in 1948, the Sharon Springs Rotary Club was a well known fixture on Thursday nights at one of the many local eating establishments. Well known for their hands on skills, craftsmanship and wild antics, was this businessmen’s club, but times have changed, and so have we!
As times change our Rotary Club has changed and adapted. As a club, we promote inclusion and Respect for All. We welcome all individuals who hold themselves to the high ethical standards of Rotarians. Now in 2020 amid a global epidemic we, like many others, now meet via ZOOM, every Monday night. This just goes to show that Rotarians are dedicated, resilient and creative!
Today the Sharon Springs Rotary Club is focused on new growth, new ideas and new members as we continue to support the community in new and innovative ways.
What is Rotary?
Rotary is an international network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
What do we do?
Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to:
- Promote peace
- Fight disease
- Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Save mothers and children
- Support education
- Grow local economies
Rotary’s Mission
We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
